Ever since Elon Musk bought the social media platform Twitter, a large number of its users are looking for new alternatives. Their search may now be fulfilled by BlueSky, better known as Twitter 2.0.
Twitter co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jack Dorsey has launched his social media platform "Bluesky" to compete with Twitter.
Jack Dorsey started developing Bluesky as a side project in 2019 using funding from Twitter. This app has currently been brought for Android users.
It will serve as an alternative to Twitter, the micro-blogging platform owned by Elon Musk. According to the app's website, the "social internet" of the future will give users more options and creators more freedom on the platform.
Social media platform "Bluesky"
BlueSky is a social network platform that offers many of the same features as Twitter. Users can post short messages and photos. It was ported to iOS devices in February. This month it has been launched for Android devices.
In terms of user interface, BlueSky looks similar to Twitter. Like Twitter, user accounts can be blocked, shared and muted in this too. Users can check notifications in another tab. Where Twitter asks 'What's happening?', BlueSky says 'What's up?
"We're building the AT Protocol, a new foundation for social networking that gives creators independence from platforms, developers freedom to build, and users a choice in their experience," the App's website said.
How different is Bluesky from Twitter ?
According to media reports, basic features available on Twitter such as bookmarks, monitoring likes, modify tweets, direct messages, hashtags will not be available on Blue Sky.
This app can be introduced in the early form of Twitter. The demand for this application is increasing and currently it has 20,000 active users.
