On WhatsApp, users can now set the Disappearing Message feature for 24 hours, 7 days as well as 90 days. That is, the disappearing message features that WhatsApp introduced last year in which they automatically disappear after some time after sending the message, now the app will also give users the option to edit the view time of received messages where users can set the view time of the message according to their own. After which the message itself will be deleted. The company has now released a new update in this feature.
Additionally, WhatsApp users will now have the option to turn on disappearing messages by default for all new chats. As of now, the Vanishing Messages service automatically removes the message from the chat after 7 days.
Disappearing messages when enabled automatically removes all messages from the chat. The company is adding two new time limits for missing messages, 24 hours and 90 days, as well as an option of seven days.
Disappearing messages must be turned on by default. According to the information given by WhatsApp, turning on Disappearing Messages by default will not affect the existing messages of users. When the user turns on a new one-on-one chat, a notification will appear, following which the Disappearing Message feature will be enabled. Along with this, it will be told in the notice that it is on by default. Users have also been given the option to turn it off.
Enable Disappearing Messages like this
1. First of all open your WhatsApp chat.
2. Tap the contact's name.
3. Tap on Disappearing Message. Then tap on Continue.
4. Choose 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days.
How to Disable Disappearing Message
Any user can disable the disappearing message at any time. Once disabled, new messages sent in chat will not disappear.
1. First of all open your WhatsApp chat.
2. Tap on the contact's name.
3. Tap on Disappearing Message. After that click on Continue.
4. Select Off option.
