Qualcomm has launched its new processor, which will be seen in the next generation of flagship smartphones. The company has launched this processor in Snapdragon Tech Summit. The company has named the new chipset as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
This processor has come as a successor to the Snapdragon 888. However, the company has adopted a new way of naming its processors. The first processor under this scheme has been named by the brand as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
What is special about this processor?
As expected, Qualcomm's latest processor focuses on 6 points - 5G connectivity, camera sensor, AI, gaming, audio and security. The special thing is that the new chipset has been prepared on the 4nm process, while the Snapdragon 888 was developed by the company on the 5nm process.
This is the first chipset from Qualcomm, which comes with Armv9 articulate. According to the company, this processor will provide 20 percent better performance than the previous.
Along with this, the latest processor is 30 percent more power efficient than the previous one. It has a new Adreno GPU, which makes graphics rendering up to 30 percent faster and has 25 percent better power efficiency.
It has a new image system, which comes with 18-bit ISP, better dynamic range, color and speed. It gets a new Bokeh engine with 8K HDR video support, with the help of which videos can be shot in portrait mode style.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor will be available in the phones of these companies
Talking about connectivity, this processor comes with Snapdragon X65 modem, which is Qualcomm's fourth generation 5G modem. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth LE audio and Snapdragon sound technology.
Qualcomm has made it clear that the first device with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor can be launched by the end of this year. Qualcomm will launch its smartphones with the new processor Black Shark, Honor, iQOO, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Redmi, SHARP, Sony Corporation, Vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE.
