A new smartphone from Xiaomi's Redmi series, the Redmi 10 Prime, has been released in India today. The new Redmi 10 Prime comes with great configurations and in affordable price. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. It also appears to be a slightly modified version of the Redmi 10 that Xiaomi launched globally last month.
It is powered by Android 11 + MIUI 12.5 and has a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio while Corning Gorilla Glass 3 offers scratch-resistance.
The display has an adaptive refresh rate of 90Hz, which can switch between 45Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz based on content. The Redmi 10 Prime has the octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, coupled with ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
RAM expansion of up to 2GB is supported, which essentially enables better multitasking by enhancing the built-in storage. It comes with up to 128GB of storage onboard, and a microSD card slot (up to 512GB) is available for expansion. It offers two storage options 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB.
For photos and videos, it comes with 50 megapixel triple rear camera setup along with 8 megapixel ultra wide shooter, 2 megapixel primary sensor and 2 megapixel macro shooter. For selfies, it comes with 8 megapixel front camera setup.
Talking about battery, it packs with 6,000mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging using the bundled 22.5W charger and up to 9W reverse charging.
The phone features 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are four sensors on board: an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. Additionally, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
