A new feature coming in WhatsApp will allow images and videos to be sent without compression.
Currently, the WhatsApp automatically compresses files when you send them to your connections.
You can now send videos in the highest quality available (under development) by enabling the video quality settings within WhatsApp for Android beta 2.21.14.6.
WhatsApp beta is working on setting the same quality for pictures, so you will be able to send pictures in the best quality as well.
According to Wabetainfo,
- WhatsApp will introduce the same settings that we have already seen to manage the video quality:
- Auto (recommended): WhatsApp detects what is the best compression algorithm for specific images..
- Best quality: WhatsApp will send the image using the the best quality available!
- Data saver: compression is enabled when Data saver is enabled in your Android settings.
- The feature is under development and it will be available in a future update for beta testers.
