Sony Launches Full-Frame Mirrorless Alpha 7S III Camera

 

The Alpha 7S III Features With BIONZ XR Image Processing Engine And New Heat Dissipating Mechanism

Sony launches its latest Alpha 7S full frame mirrorless camera series with 'Alpha 7S III' which is the successor of a7S Mark II that was announced in 2015.

The camera packs a 12.1-megapixel 35mm full-frame back-illuminated full-frame image sensor with ultra-high ‘s’ series sensitivity and 15+ stop wide dynamic range, 4K 120p video with 10-bit 4:2:2 color depth.

A new heat dissipating mechanism, dual slot relay recording for over one hour of 4K 60p movie shooting and a new autofocus system and BIONZ XR image processing engine has also been newly developed and packs up to 8x more processing power.

He added that the latest camera combines the sensitivity of the classic S-series with a feature set, performance level and user experience that will be hard to match in the industry today".
 

Sony's latest full-frame mirrorless camera features 9.44 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, an articulated LCD panel, 5-axis in-body image stabilization and dual CFexpress Type A card slots. Moreover the back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor will reduce rolling shutter by up to three times.

The base ISO of the device has been lowered to 80, thus offering a normal range of 80 to 102,400 which can be expandable to 409,600 for video and 409,600 for stills. For stills, the lowest range is 40.

There is a fast hybrid autofocus system in the a7S Mark III with 759 point Phase detection AF sensors covering 92 per cent of the image sensor. The camera offers real-time eye AF and real-time tracking.

Sony's Alpha 7S III is priced at Rs. 3,34,990 and will be available for purchase from October 14 on all major offline and online retailers.

 Along with that, the CEA-G80T memory card is also available for Rs 21,100. There is another memory card variant, the CEA-G160T, which can be bought for Rs 40,990. Lastly, Sony is also introducing the MRW-G2 Card Reader, available for Rs 13,700.
