WhatsApp is testing Message Authentication Feature.
Now, WhatsApp is working on a Search Message feature, that could verify forwarded messages.
According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is testing Search Message on its beta version.
The search messages on the web directly from its app to authentication fake messages. The feature is under development.
WhatsApp will ask, if you want to upload the message on Google, so you can see if it contains fake news or not.
WhatsApp confirmed the existence of this feature. “We are working on new features to help empower users to find out more information about the messages they receive that have been forwarded many times. This feature is currently in testing, and we look forward to rolling it out in the near future,” a spokesperson told to TechCrunch.
What will this feature do?
Once you receive a text message on WhatsApp and certainly forward it to you, then you will see a new search icon right next to the text. Just Tap the icon, WhatsApp will ask you to search that forwarded message on Google, whether to check its authentic or not.Once you allow it, the message will redirect to Google Page. Also, you will have an option to cancel the search.
