Sony Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual, Xperia Z4 Tablet Start Receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Update
Sony has started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual, and Xperia Z4 Tablet. However these are the newest devices receiving Android 7.0 Nougat, Sony has formally confirmed the Nougat rollout for Xperia Z5 smartphones, which we reported earlier this week. The Android 7.0 Nougat update is rolling out on a region basis and users should start seeing notifications soon.
If we've got either of the two Xperia smartphones, then we should check for a new update with firmware number 32.3.A.0.372. It's the same build that the Xperia Z5 family received newly and it will update the Xperia Z3+ and Z3 Dual to Android 7.0 Nougat.
It's also worth declaring the update also contains the December security patch. The official changelog also remarks multi-window support, which should permit users to run two apps at the same time, as well as switch between them by double tapping, direct reply notifications, VR interface, Extra power efficiency, Google Assistant, Clear All, Data saver, bundled notifications, improved Java 8 language support, and Instant Apps. Sony also promises longer battery life with Android 7.0 Nougat, but that remains to be seen.
Sony has almost updated all of its allocated devices that were a part of its Android 7.0 Nougat update roadmap, namely Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual, , Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia XZ, Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia X Compact. The two remaining Xperia smartphones to receive the update are Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra, which are line up to receive Android 7.0 Nougat soon enough, seeing how Sony is aggressively pushing Nougat to its smartphones. But, the Sony Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4v, released in the second quarter of 2015, have been entirely left out of the Nougat rollout roadmap by the company.
