Hyve Launches Two Android Smartphones In Indian Market
On Wednesday Hyve Mobility, a New Delhi-based mobility startup introduced its first smartphones in India - the Hyve Storm and Hyve Buzz. The 4G-enabled smartphones will be offered from June 22 via Flipkart, Amazon India, and Gadgets 360. While the Hyve Buzz is priced at Rs. 13,999, the Hyve Storm is priced at Rs. 8,499.
HYVE is proposing their smartphones with unique, irresistible offerings in all three segments—features, hardware, and after sales service and warranty. Though the brand has come in as a surprise with completely no hype or awareness, the company claims that it is set to change the setup of the mobile phone industry here in India. The co-founder and CEO Sharad Mehrotra is an ex-Apple employee who has a dream to change the scenario of the Indian smartphone industry, with HYVE, his new smartphone startup brand.

Our PAN India pick-up & drop service will set the new benchmark in service & support landscape."
The Hyve Buzz is powered by 3GB RAM bundled with MALI T720 Graphics and the MediaTek 1.5GHz octa-core processor. It has a 5.5 inch HD 2.5D Arc Glass display permitted with MediaTek MiraVision. It has an internal memory of 48GB with an option of expanding up to 144 GB. The phone runs on stock Android 5.1 Lollipop
The Hyve Buzz bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with a dual-LED flash and Sony Exmor RS sensor, apart from the front has a 5MP camera for the picture enthusiasts while the modest 2500mAh battery is not bad at all. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card. The company is also bundling a 32GB microSD with the smartphone. It has the fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, and the company is advertising its Touch2Call feature that permits users to set up speed dials corresponding to a fingerprint. the phone also comes with an IPX 4 rating and sports a USB Type-C with fast charging.
Connectivity options onboard the Hyve Buzz include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports 4G VoLTE. It measures in at 151x78.2x10.3 and weighs 154 grams. Sensors onboard include a proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a magnetometer. The smartphone is also IPX4-certified for water resistance.
The other smartphone by the company, Hyve Storm is powered by a MediaTek 1.3GHz Quad-core processor and a 2GB RAM. A display of the device is 5-inch HD and it comes with a 2000mAh battery. It has 16GB storage with an option of expanding up to 80GB.
The back camera is a 13-megapixel rear camera with a PDAF, ISOCELL sensor, and dual-LED flash, apart from a 5-megapxiel front camera. The device runs on stock Android 5.1 Lollipop. Connectivity options are same in Storm as that of Buzz, Bluetooth Wi-Fi 802.11, 4.0, GPS. Sensors onboard include a proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a magnetometer. It measures 142.5x71.4x8.7mm in dimensions.
The Hyve Buzz has been launched in Twilight Black, Midnight Blue, and Sunset Wine color variants, while the Hyve Storm has been launched in Snow White and Mystic Grey color variants.
"After-sales service is going be a big differentiator for Hyve in a market. To start with, we are providing pick and drop service for our smartphones across all 4,200 pin codes in the country and complimentary damage insurance," Hyve co-founder and CEO Sharad Mehrotra said.
The pick and drop facility will be complimentary during the warranty period of smartphones and Hyve will later decide on service for out-of-warranty phones.
