Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Could Have Curved Screen And Long Battery
Samsung might be a couple of months away from introducing its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 6, yet the leaks don’t stop pouring. You have already learned that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 would feature a 5.8-inch ‘Slim RGB’ QHD display, and as per the new report by GSM Helpdesk, Samsung could be toying with both, flat and curved display, just similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Samsung Galaxy S7.
According to SamMobile, which has a consistent track record when it comes to Samsung-related rumors, Samsung is testing two variants of the Galaxy Note 6, one with a flat screen and one with a curved screen — both have Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution.
But unlike last year, where the Korean electronics giant introduced the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy, both with similar tech specs, with the only variances being the S6 Edge+'s dual curved glass sides and the Note 5's stylus and flat screen, there will only be one model this year.
That makes sense since the S7 Edge has a 5.5-inch screen, the S7 has a 5.1-inch screen and the Galaxy Note will apparently have a 5.8-inch screen.
Samsung has constantly gone in for a smaller capacity battery in the past to guarantee that the phablet is also not too heavy like those of the past. While the formula spelt success for the Note 5, it did not play out too well regarding battery life like user experienced in their full review of the Note 5 Dual SIM.
The 4000mAh battery is likely to pack in some amount of heft and Samsung appears to have found an answer by creating a slimmer display panel. For now, let’s just hope that weight remains in check and the Note 6 does not end up like the plethora of Chinese smartphones that promise long standby times with weight being the obvious compromise.
As for the remainder of the specs, the user can now also expect Samsung to pack in 6GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The test models are said to feature an Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 SoCs both of which run Android N.
From the past leaks, a user has also learned that the Note 6 could also feature an iris scanner for biometric verification and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The device could also come equipped with the 12-megapixel duo-pixel rear camera, LED flash and PDAF.
Recently, Samsung also began mass production of 256GB memory chip and there are gossips that the Note 6 could pack 256GB of storage option, which could be the highest in any smartphone yet. While the early reports cannot be completely correct, we will have to wait until we come across more reliable information or till Samsung doesn’t make the Note 6 official.
