Facebook Offers Scannable Profile Codes On Messenger
The Social Networking giant, Facebook has declared and revealed the bunch of updates for the Messenger application. The Facebook reported the taking off new features for Messenger App. The Facebook has announced two new ways to start chatting with people; the first is the Messenger links and other is the Messenger codes.
Facebook said Messenger Codes as the easiest approach to finding people in Messenger. Click the link, or scan the QR-style code, and it opens up a Messenger discussion with the business. Facebook Inc. Messenger has achieved the milestone of 900 million monthly active users, up from the figure of 800 million declared in January.
Facebook, who owns one of the most widely used cross-platform messaging services on the Earth, WhatsApp, is currently attempting to position Facebook Messenger as the perfect service for staying in touch with family and friends as well as for business use.
Facebook’s new codes are like to Snapchat’s Snap tags, scannable codes that allow Snapchatters add new friends on the platform. Each user will now be assigned a unique Messenger Code that another user can scan to start communication. Facebook’s Rooms app also allow users add others to their “rooms” by scanning visual codes.
In a post on the new functionality, Facebook explained: “No matter where you are, online or at an event, all you have to do is scan a code someone shares with you, and then you can start that important conversation”.
“No more back and forth with texts trying to make sure you have the right number saved and awkwardly asking people how to spell their names. Your settings tab in Messenger has your own Messenger Code displayed prominently to scan or share.”
The Facebook introduced the update for Businesses, to connect with their customers over social networking. The business pages on Facebook, which have vanity URL, which contains the Company name in URL of their page, will get their Username featured below the Page Name with “@” symbol. The Messenger Links and Messenger Codes are energizing features as well. The Messenger Links are the short connections of any users, which will open the Chat you did with that user, in Messenger application.
With these updates, the Facebook said that they’ll introduce “Messenger Greetings” for Business pages. The Messenger Greeting is the text content that will appear to the client before he sends private Message to the Business page.
Mark Zuckerberg wrote: ‘Messenger Codes lets you just pull out your phone and scan someone else’s code – it’s the new circular pattern surrounding their profile photo in Messenger settings.
“Businesses can use Messenger Links and Messenger Codes in ads, on their website or in any other marketing channel to prompt people to reach out to them directly,” the publish said.
The Messenger Codes are the same as the QR Codes of every Facebook user. If a user needs to add anyone to their friend list or the Messenger chat list, a user can just scan his Messenger code in their Messenger application to connect with that individual. If the user has already chatted with that person, then his scanning his messenger code in your smartphone will open the conversation user done with him.
