Apple iPhone SE launched In India Starting From 39000 INR
On Monday Apple declared its new smaller iPhone SE, with features similar to its top-end devices, but in a 4-inch form factor, will be offered in India early April for a cost of Rs 39,000 for the 16GB version.
The primarily declared amount was Rs 30,000 for the base model, which would have been very competitive in the Indian market. This is still Apple’s most estimating pricing for India and the worldwide market, opening up the premium phone segment for a wider audience. The 64GB model of the smartphone costs Rs 10,000 more at Rs 49,000. The phone was globally revealed alongside the iPad Pro 9.7-inch. While the new iPhone SE has been introduced today, the iPad Pro was announced yesterday for Rs 49,900.
Last month The iPhones SE was declared and it has a 4-inch (1136 x 640 pixels) screen, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, is fueled by an Apple A9 processor with M9 motion co-processor, accompanies a 12-megapixel iSight camera with which has a f/2.2 aperture, focus pixels and deep trench isolation and support for 4K video recording, 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera with Retina Flash, 4G LTE availability and keeps running on the most recent iOS 9.3. It is accompanied by a TrueTone flash system. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and NFC for Apple Pay support.
The Apple iPhone SE comes in Silver, Gold, Space Gray and Rose Gold colors. It is available across India from authorized Apple Resellers through distributors Redington India, Rashi Peripherals, and Ingram Micro. It is likewise accessible through online retailers Infibeam, Flipkart, Airtel store, Vodafone store and more.
Apple has launched two accessories along with the new iPhone SE —Lightning Dock and leather cases. The Apple-designed leather cases will be offered in black and midnight blue, priced at Rs 2,900 while Lightning Docks in color-matched metallic finishes are priced at Rs 3,700.
Apple also declared a new smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro, going back to the more well-known size for the Apple tablet. The company is pushing the iPad Pro as a PC replacement and for the first time offered a 256 GB version in both formats of the iPad Pro.
"Apple's goal is to simplify the production and distribution, by ensuring its phones work for most carriers without having to have a different model specific to each carrier," Wayne Lam, principal analyst, mobile devices and networks, IHS Technology said. "This also benefits consumers by giving them greater phone portability across carriers."
Apple iPhone SE goes on sale in India on April 8.
