McAfee Will Change Their Name To Intel Security. Intel has announced it would be named McAfee into Intel Security. This announcement by Intel CEO Brian Krzanich at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The deal was confirmed approx $7.7 billion in 2010.
In the Keynote Krzanich said,"I am pleased to announce the Intel Security brand to identify our products in the security segment McAfee products will transition to this brand over time. McAfee software for mobile devices will be free. We believe this will allow this ecosystem to flourish.
McAfee was founded in 1987 as McAfee Associates and its founded by John McAfee. Whereas Intel is the world's largest and highest valued semiconductor chip maker company.
According to Wikipedia, Among other companies bought and sold by McAfee (formerly known as Network Associates) is Trusted Information Systems, which developed the Firewall Toolkit, which was the free software foundation for the commercial Gauntlet Firewall, which was later sold by McAfee to Secure Computing Corporation.
